For the past 5 years, we have lived in a loft housed in an 1890’s industrial building…lots of brick walls and wood.  The textures in the place are crazy yet somehow it all pulls together.  Our kitchen and dining area are connected together with simple cabinets, granite, and STEEL!

My Favorite Kitchen Addition

One of my favorite additions to my kitchen is this little coffee corner…It’s complete with shelves of simple white dishes, a coffee machine, and industrial steel pipe shelving.

It was my DIY project upon moving in.

As I searched for “instructions” on Pinterest that would work in my space, I ran over to our local Home Depot…BONUS!

I grabbed the steel pipe fittings, stair treads, stain, and spray paint and this unit was born…but I will confess I had my contractor hang it as the visions of it coming crashing down were just too strong!

DIY shelving …so easy!

Bonus Produce Storage

Living so close to the downtown farmer’s market meant I also needed a place to house all the fresh produce that doesn’t like living in the fridge…I went on a search for the perfect floor-stand basket-rack.

Strolling through Costco one day I stumbled on a Mikasa rack that fits like it was made for the space. I can’t find a link to the one I have but here is the newest version.

Check it out.  What do you think?  Have you created a space to house your fruits and veggies?  If so, share it.

just love this corner veggie bin!
